Scripture Sunday: Calling All Prayer Requests

Hi Friends, and Happy Sunday. Today I want to allow you to give me your prayer requests so that I can pray for you!

In fact, this is something I want to ask for more because, let’s be honest, we all have things we need to pray about. And how GREAT does it feel when people rally around us or pray with us and FOR us?

God loves to see us loving on each other. He wants us to care for everyone equally.god-1772560__340

Love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:39

This means to care for, reach out, and pray for them, too. So, without further ado, what can I pray about for you? Send an email to emily.rokke@gmail.com or reply in the comments!

If you’re reading this, I want to pray for you.

Dear God, Never let us forget to love and pray for others! You take care of us, so we are able to put ourselves aside, and care for others. We know that You want us to love, pray for, and treat others as we would treat ourselves. Always remind us to put others first and to come to You with everything. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Sunday: Do You Podcast?

They’re people who love podcasts and people who don’t. I am the latter and in fact, I would rather tear my ears off than listen to someone talk at me.

But then there was this: Elevation Church podcasts with Pastor Steven Furtick.

And I was hooked. Not to the podcast life, but to this podcast specifically. To me, hearing him speak via podcast is like hearing him speak at church, and I cannot get enough.

Elevation Church is based out of North Carolina but it’s broadcasted in a number of ways throughout the world. Steven Furtick is relatable, funny, and a loyal man of God. His sermons touch everyone who hears them and are just great.

Sometimes guest pastors come in, too, and while they’re no Steven Furtick, they’re also pretty phenomenal.

My friend told me about this church and the podcasts within the last couple months, but I really only started listening to them within the last couple of weeks. And guess what?

God is so good. He was like, “Oh yeah? You like this Steven Furtick guy? Well, good. I have put you in a place and time where he will be a part of a conference, where you can go and see him. Oh, and it’s free.” Thank you God, you are so good.

If you haven’t heard of him or checked it out, you should. It’s good stuff.

If you’re reading this, I want to pray for you.

Dear God, thank You for always showing us ways to come closer to You. We are so grateful to know we are always in the right place and time according to Your plan. How lucky are we that You take anyone, whether a pastor, friend, or stranger, to show us Your love. We thank You for all that you do. You are such an amazing God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Sunday: Make God a To-Do List

I heard this recently and I just had to pass it on.

We all know that God wants us to have joy, be happy, and give love to others. What does God not want us to do? He doesn’t want us to worry, be sad, be negative, be anxious, cry, or really anything negative. So what do we do then?

Because this life is hard. Things break our hearts, cause us pain, and sometimes it feels like it will never end. But it will, and this is how to stop it right now. Give it to God.

Write God a to-do list. Tell Him all the things you want Him to do for you, so that you don’t have to. He wants us to come to Him. He wants us to give Him all the bad stuff, so we can hold on to the good stuff, and only the good stuff.

Make His to-do list, and be real with Him. Tell Him you want Him to have your sadness, you worry, and your hurt. If something is breaking your heart, put in on His to-do list. If something is making you anxious, add it to the list. If you want to change but your’re struggling, add that to the list, too.

We know that everything happens according to God’s plan. That we need to share Him and share love, and that ultimately that’s all He wants from us. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t human and that we won’t feel these feelings.

It’s ok, and He understands. But He also wants us to remember that we don’t have to shoulder it, not any of it. He wants us to give it to Him. He wants to take all of it so that we can stop and smell the roses, slow down, be happy, and enjoy this life.

So, make Him a to-do list. Give him all of the bad stuff. And only keep the good stuff.

If you’re reading this, I want to pray for you.

Dear God, Thank you for allowing us to give You all the bad stuff. We are so thankful to give You a to-do list of the hard things that make us hurt. We want to always remember that we can come to You with anything, no matter what it is. And we want to live with love and happiness in our hearts, even if we’re feeling all the humans hurts of this life. God, you are so good. We praise You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Sunday: Put God on Your Phone

We’re all on our phones too much. All day long, half the night, and everywhere in between. Phone, phone, and more phone.

So why not put God on your phone? It’s something that we’re on, looking at, and using everyday, anyhow.

I love choosing something that’s pretty, or catches my eye and then also has an amazing and refreshing word from God.

This is one of my favorites. It reminds me that God has a plan for me. His plan is to prosper me, not to harm me, and to give me hope, and a future. God is so good!

For any verse, all you have to do is Google ‘bible scriptures wallpaper,’ and there are so many to choose from! If you want a specific verse, just ‘Google bible scripture wallpapers’ and a few of the scripture words to find the one you want.

This is such an easy and fun way to keep God in our sight, literally.

If you’re reading this, I want to pray for you.

Dear God,

Always remind us to keep our eyes on you! We’re so thankful that You have a plan for us. We are so blessed! We praise you and thank you for Your plans to prosper us and give us hope. You are such an awesome God and we’re so lucky to know we can get through anything as long as we have You. I’m Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Sunday: When You Don’t Know What To Do, Pray

(Yes, it’s Monday, but better late than never!)

I love that about prayer, it’s not biased.

Whether you’re ecstatically happy or devastatingly upset, you can always pray.

And we have all been in those situations, the situations that made us glad, or sad, or somewhere in between, and we just didn’t know what to do.

And in those situations, the best thing to do is pray. sunset-1873050__340.jpg

Praise Him when you are happy, feeling lucky, and reminded how blessed you are. Cry it out if you have to and wait for calm and peace from Him, when the world around you is causing you anything but. (I read a meme this weekend that said our tears are prayers for when we cannot speak, and I LOVE that.)

Whatever it is and whatever you feel, know that it’s always a good time for prayer.

If you’re reading this, I want to pray for you.

Dear God, Please remind us that anytime is a good time to come into prayer. We are so lucky to have You to come to, to help us get through anything, and everything tough in this world. We are so happy to praise You in the good times. We want to be reminded that You have a plan for us, and to pray always, no matter what the circumstances are. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Sunday: Why Are You A Christian?

I’m a Christian because I want to be.pexels-photo-267559

I want to believe, and I have faith in God. I want a relationship with Him.

I am blessed and happy to know that there is already a completed and divine plan for my life.

I want to sit in peace and live with joy, everyday. I don’t want to spend my life worrying, stressed, and unable to see the beauty all around us.

That’s what’s available to us as Christians, believing in God, and having a relationship with Him. We get peace, contentment, joy, and everything amazing that He has created for us.

How lucky are we? How blessed are we?

If you’re reading this, I want to pray for you.

Dear God, Thank you for giving us so many amazing reasons to be a Christian. Thank You for being our God and all of the promises You have made to us. We are so blessed to have you. We are so blessed to have all that you have created for us. Please remind us that everything is this life is of You and it is all meant to be. In Jesus’name, Amen.

Scripture Sunday: What Does Your Spiritual Life Look Like For 2019?

Good morning friends!

It’s almost the last day of the year and as hard as it is to believe, I’m so ready for it! 2018 was a year, and I am glad not to have to live it again. There were lots of laughs, but also some rough times to be had. There was growth, and a lot of self reflection. But overall, bye 2018 and hello 2019!

There are lots of things I want for 2019 and more God, more prayers, and more of the Word are at the top of my want list. And this is how I’m going to do it.

  • Flip calendar daily with scriptures and devotionals
  • Bible app
  • Stories of the Bible
  • Cindee devotionals
  • Finish and use my flip book!

I look forward to what 2019 has for me. I look forward to new and exciting work opportunities. I look forward to continued travels with my Hubby. I cannot wait for new experiences, new views, and new insights. And I cannot wait to grow closer and stronger in my relationship with God.

Do you have any tips for me, for more God in my life? What does your spiritual time with Him look like?

If you’re reading this, I just want to pray for you.

Dear God, We all need to come to You more, dig into the Word, and live spiritually and not naturally.  Don’t let us forget that! We are so lucky to have You there for us whenever we need You. Thank You for Your plan for our lives. Thank You for Your patience with us and for all of Your promises. Please speak to us this year, so loud that we cannot NOT hear You. Please continue to guide us and remind us to be patient and trust in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

And thank you to all of my readers and supporters! Have a beautiful and blessed end of 2018 and Happy 2019!

Scripture Sunday: Ask God Where to Go

I don’t feel lost but I do wonder.

I wonder “where” I should be going. I also think about what I should be doing. I love to do lots of things, and I always have. But I think about if I should be doing more of one thing, and less of all of the things? Or if I’m doing what I “should” be.

Do you wonder about that?

For me, I love knowing that God has a plan for me.  I love knowing that even if I stray a bit, God will bring me back to where I should be. But I also get that feeling, that ‘déjà vu’ or instinctive knowing, that I am exactly where I’m supposed to be.

It’s Him telling me that I am where I should be and I’m doing it right. And I’m so thankful for each time I hear it.

I’m so thankful and grateful that there is a plan for my life and all I have to do is live it. I encourage you to talk to Him about it all and stay in peace that everything is as it should be.

Dear God, We thank You for having a plan for our lives. We are so thankful that we can come to You with our wonders, doubts, and questions about ourselves. We thank You for reminding us that we are on the right path. We are so lucky to live in the peace You provide to us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
