Four Citrus Blend

It’s summer, I’m back home for another couple months, and I AM LOVING IT! The nights cool off and you can cuddle with a blanket, and the days warm up and the sun shines bright. And sometimes there is a thunder storm during the day! It’s the best, you just can’t beat it.

I love the feels of summer, and I also love the smells. Who’s with me? This blend is all summer and combines four citruses for a light, bright summer-fresh scent. Try it out and let me know what you think!

Essential Oils: Focus Blend

What do you do to help you focus? As a freelance writer, I have to stay on task  when I work. So, I have lots of tips and tricks I’ve developed along the way.

Taking several quick, short walks throughout the day is amazing for focus. I do this often. I also like to stand while I work sometimes. This is great for your body and allows you to move more.

And I love to use essential oils to help me focus, too! I find that bright, fresh citrus is great for focus and this blend smells amazing.

Focus BlendPeppermintoil

  • 2 drops peppermint oil
  • 2 drops lime oil
  • 2  drops grapefruit oil

This blend is awesome in a diffuser. Just add the oils and water and set your diffuser next to you for your task, and boom. Smells great, keeps you alert, and helps you focus.

If you want to make a roller bottle with this blend, add 15 drops of each into the roller bottle and fill with Jojoba oil (or carrier oil of choice.)

Mojito Oil Diffuser Blend

It’s summer! And you know what’s awesome in the summer? Lime. And mint. And ice. And soda water.

Mojitos. Mojitos are what’s awesome in the summer. I love the taste of mojitos and I know a huge part of it is because I love the smell of lime. Because we can’t drink mojitos all day during the summer (work is always getting in the way of my relax life,) we can enjoy the scent and the freshness all the same!

This diffuser blend smells like summer, in the limiest, mintiest way, yum!

Less Stress Essential Oil Blend

Aromatherapy has been used to promote well-being and relaxation for centuries. With essential oils, they’re not only enjoyable as a scent, but healthful, too! I love essential oils and I am always pouring and mixing them see what I can come up with.

This diffuser blend contains stress away, which is from Young Living, and is one of my favorite blend. This heavily lime scented oil blend smells great and always puts me in a great mood.

I added some eucalyptus, too, as it helps to clear and focus my busy mind.

Essential Oil Lovers, Be Careful Using Oils This Summer Season

Essential oils came into my life and I’ve loved them ever since. I use oils for my allergies, my face, to prevent sickness, and so much more!

Essential Oils for the Summer

Essential oils are great for summertime use. Tea tree oil wards off bugs and Copaiba is soothing and restorative after too much time in the sun.

Be Careful With These Essential Oils in the Summer

But please, whatever you do, don’t oil up with anything citrus during the summer! Oils like Lemon, Grapefruit, Lime, Orange, Coriander, and even Ginger are photo sensitive. Grapefruit-Whole-&-SplitWearing these oils in the sunshine can and will burn you.  Don’t do it.

Still want the great effects of these oils? Use them at night! If you end your day with light sensitive oils you reap the benefits without any negative side effects.

Use oils on skin areas not prone to constant sunlight. This is the safest way to protect yourself and your skin.

My Favorite Essential Oils For The Summer

  • In the diffuser, grapefruit and lime create a light summer scent. Lemon and Lavender is a fresh, calming scent too.
  • Tea tree keeps the bugs away as does Lavender.
  • Did you get a little too much sun? Use oils like Copaiba, Lavender, and Frankincense soothe and protect you skin.

Essential oils are great year around but it’s important to pay attention to what oils you’re using and when.

Lime Angel Food Poke Cake

Lime is my favorite summer flavor! This tart taste adds a refreshing, light spin to foods and drinks.

You have to try this poke cake. Less than five ingredients makes it easy and the Greek yogurt and fresh citrus compliment the Angel Food Cake in a way that frosting can’t. And it’s healthier and lighter too.IMG_20170517_140808 (1)
